Jeroo Billimoria is a serial social entrepreneur who has founded six organizations including Child Helpline International and Aflatoun. Child Helpline started in India, and Jeroo transformed it into a global movement. Child Helpline International currently operates in over 160 countries. She is the founder / honorary secretary of the Childline India Foundation (1996-present) and the founder / president of MelJol (1991-present). Jeroo moved to Amsterdam and founded Child Helpline International in 2003 and Aflatoun in 2005. From 1991 to 1999, Jeroo was a Lecturer at the University Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Jeroo has received numerous awards for her work from such organizations as the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, Ashoka and the Skoll Foundation. She has been profiled in David Bornstein’s book How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas (2004) and John Elkington & Pamela Hartigan’s The Power of Unreasonable People (2008).
