David W. Mooney is President and CEO of Alliant Credit Union. Based in Chicago, IL, Alliant serves more than 250,000 members worldwide through a national network of branch service centers, attended and self-service telephone centers, ATM's and online banking. With $6 billion dollars in assets, Alliant is the seventh largest credit union in the United States based on asset size.

David's 30-year career in financial services includes experience across a range of business lines, markets and functions at leading financial companies. Prior to being appointed to the Credit Union's top leadership position in May 2003, David held a number of executive level and management positions at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and its predecessors Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Bank.

Before joining the Alliant, David served as Senior Vice President at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., organizing and directing the integration of organization, products, operations, systems and policies for the retail and commercial banking businesses in the merger of J.P. Morgan and Chase Manhattan Corp. Prior to that, he headed Business Planning and Finance for Chase's Retail Distribution Group, overseeing planning, finance, risk management, business intelligence and facilities management.

David began his career in Chemical Bank's International Operations Division, where he held several marketing and management positions. After being recruited by European American Bank to head product management and development for corporate cash management services, David returned to Chemical Bank as Manager of International Trade and Debt Securities Products. He then joined the bank's Retail Operations Group as Head of Administration, and a year later became Senior Vice President in charge of branches in Manhattan and Staten Island.

In 1990, David was appointed Executive Vice President of the Consumer Banking Department at Chemical Bank's Texas affiliate, Texas Commerce Bancshares, with responsibility for marketing and product development, sales and service programming, consumer and mortgage lending, and branch, call center and ATM channels. David returned to New York to become Senior Vice President in charge of expanding the consumer and small business markets in New York.

David has been an invited speaker at financial services conferences, and his articles have appeared in bankstocks.com, Banking Strategies magazine and The Houston Chronicle. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Illinois Credit Union Foundation, Members Development Company, Credit Union 24, Operation Hope, Inc. and NADAP (a workforce development agency), as well as the Filene Research Council.  He chairs the Supervisory Committee of Members United Corporate Credit Union, serves as chairman of CUNA’s BITS Liaison Task Force, and on the NASCUS Legislative Affairs Committee.
