Daniel Heath represents the United States at the International Monetary Fund as Alternate Executive Director.
Confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2007, Daniel serves on the Executive Board as the IMF finances countries in economic trouble and creates opportunities for private enterprise and growth around the world. Prior to this position he was a Director in the White House National Economic Council in two administrations, responsible for small business, entrepreneurship, rural development, and economic opportunity issues. He serves as a founding board member of the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership, and board chairman of the National Bankers Association Foundation. Daniel also was senior economist for natural resources and international trade at the Office of Management and Budget. For several years Daniel was a principal in a strategic planning company in Europe that advised global firms on risk management and market entry. He also created a small faith-based building firm with chronically jobless men in England, and conducted economic research for several policy institutes. Raised in Vermont, educated in Washington and Oxford, Daniel has run his family’s farm business, published in economics, lectured in American and overseas universities.
