Barbara Rehm

Barbara A. Rehm is editor in chief of American Banker. Based in the Washington bureau, Barb leads a team of 35 reporters and editors who report, write and design the daily as well as AmericanBanker.com. She joined the paper in 1987 as a reporter covering the Federal Reserve Board and was promoted to Washington bureau chief in 1995. She was promoted to EIC in October 2008. Barb holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She won the 47th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards competition for coverage of deposit insurance reform.

Born in St. Louis, Barb lives in McLean, Va., with her husband, Jeff Knowles. Her hobbies counterbalance each other - she loves to cook, and runs and bikes to offset the eating. She has completed one marathon and one century and belongs to a competitive cooking club.
