Dr. Allen Sessoms

Allen Lee Sessoms is the President of the University of the District of Columbia.

He formally served as President of Delaware State University, and President of Queens College, The City University of New York. He served as Executive Vice President of University of Massachusetts Systems from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Sessoms has been Trustee of The Milestone Funds since June 1997. From 1974 to 1981, Dr. Sessoms served as an Assistant Professor of Physics at Harvard University. From 1973 to 1975 Dr. Sessoms served as a Scientific Associate at the European Organization of Nuclear Research. He served as Lecturer of John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 2000 to 2003. He served as post-doctoral Research Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 1972 to 1973. From 1980 to 1993 Dr. Sessoms was associated with the U.S. Department of State in various capacities including Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, Mexico, Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Mexico and counselor for Scientific and Technological Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Parks, France. He was a Fellow of John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 2000 to 2003.
